PingPong Terms of Use
Last updated: · Effective:
These terms apply to everyone who uses PingPong, in every country. By creating an account, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, these terms are in addition to Apple's standard license agreement.
Who can use it
PingPong is for people aged 16 or older. If the law of your country requires a higher age to use a service like this, the higher age applies. Each account belongs to a single person, and you are responsible for what happens in it.
What PingPong is
PingPong is a free messaging app, with no ads. Messages, photos, videos, voice notes, files and calls are end-to-end encrypted: only the people in the conversation can open what is sent. Not even PingPong can read your conversations, and that is why we keep no copy of them.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
We never accept:
- any content that exploits or sexualizes children or teenagers;
- threats, harassment, stalking, intimidation or incitement to violence;
- hate speech against people or groups;
- intimate content of another person without their consent;
- scams, fraud, spam, bulk messaging, malicious links or malware;
- impersonating another person or a company;
- using PingPong to commit or arrange crimes;
- violating other people's rights.
Anyone who breaks these rules may have their account paused or permanently banned, without prior notice in serious cases. When the law requires it, we report what comes to our attention to the authorities.
Reporting and blocking
In any conversation, tap the person's name to report or block them. In groups, tap the person in the group info. People you block can no longer contact you.
Because conversations are encrypted, a report carries only the messages you choose to show, and nothing else. Our team reviews reports within 24 hours and may pause or ban the reported account. Accounts reported by many different people in a short time are paused automatically until they are reviewed.
If your account was paused or banned and you think it was a mistake, contact support inside the app.
Your account
You sign in with your username (@) and the account password you create. The password never leaves your phone and we have no way to recover it: keep it somewhere safe. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, and it is deleted right away.
What you send
What you send is yours, and you are responsible for it. Because everything is end-to-end encrypted, PingPong only carries the content, without being able to open it, and deletes it from the server after delivery.
Using the service
You may not try to break PingPong's security, access other people's accounts, overload the service, automate sending, or get around the limits and protections against abuse.
Changes and availability
PingPong is provided as is. We may change features, these terms or the service itself. When the terms change, the date at the top of this page changes too, and important changes are announced in the app.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, PingPong is not responsible for what people send to each other, or for losses caused by misuse of your account or your device. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law of your country gives you.
